An elderly woman leaves Debaltseve after Russian troops and Ukrainian Separatists over run Ukraine’s army. The evil of Russia’s invasion and occupation continues to bring grief and death to Ukraine.
Here is the March 2015 newsletter of UKRAINE MISSIONS.
Spring is awakening Ukraine and with this year’s spring comes the reality that Russia’s pause in its invasion and seizure of Ukraine’s sovereign territory is about to end.
In the midst of the evil horrors that have beset Ukraine for over a year there are some encouraging points. Our brethren are standing fast and continuing to show the love of Christ to those who flee the war zones, those who are orphaned or widowed by war’s evil, or those who have lost everything.
So far in 2015 we have shipped an amazing quantity of relief supplies (dry food mixes; clothing; hygiene items; family buckets; medical supplies; medical equipment). Here are three impressive totals:
**Total container shipped thus far (April 06) in 2015: 11 forty foot high cube
**Total pounds sent for relief efforts thus far (April 06) in 2015: 264,272
**Total value of commodities shipped thus far (April 06) in 2015: $1,834,939.00
These containers have been paid by brethren in the private sector and some have been paid by partners in Ukraine who are eager to get relief supplies to those in urgent need.
At this point we have completely exhausted our shipping funds and in fact are $5,000.00 in the hole! PLEASE help us to find more funding to ship more relief items into Ukraine. Please send donations to cover shipping costs to: UKRAINE MISSIONS, College Church of Christ, 2934 East Moore Street, Searcy, Arkansas 72143. Please mark on the “for” line “Ukraine Relief.”
The effectiveness of our efforts are being validated by the reports in this month’s newsletter—the Lord’s Church is recognized and respected and the love of Christ is drawing numbers into the Church’s haven of security. Here are to excerpts from brethren who are helping us distribute these relief commodities:
**Thanks to all who help in this ministry and humanitarian aid because your help brought two more people to Church, namely, Lena and Inna, and Inna brings her five-year old son Elijah with her. Inna came because she saw Church’s address on buckets that were given away on behalf of the Church, and that had been put together at Hillsboro. She attends Bible classes regularly now and has made up her mind to be baptized next Sunday. Your help has changed attitudes of many who call themselves Orthodox towards church of Christ.
**We thank God for adding saved souls to His church. Our Sunday attendance now it 50 adults and 20 children. We have already outgrown our meeting place. Please, pray to God to take care of that situation and to bless us with more funds because the majority of people are displaced and we don’t collect enough to pay rent.
