Report #15—October 27, 2015

The trip is winding down to the final day. Incredible seems to characterize the trip and the opportunities that have been provided by the Lord. I look forward to sharing details of this trip with many of you upon my return.

During the trip I have continued receiving reports of the Lord’s work elsewhere in the world. I want to share two of these with you so you can rejoice in the great good that is being done globally for the Lord!

From India came this update from David Lawyer…

Greetings in the merciful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am very happy to write you this mail. I had been to Jharkhand state and West Bengal state also and preached the Gospel. I once again thank you for your loving, kind mighty helps. because of your love and encouragement, I am able to visit many other states in India. Thank you very much. I and the preachers here once again thank you for your loving kind helps.

On 10th I started from my place Jadcherla to Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state. I started in the evening and reached Hyderabad our state capital and boarded a direct train to Ranchi. the train started at 10 PM the next day night that is, Friday night I reached Ranchi at 10.45 PM. Brother Shashikant lives there. He is a bachelor around 28 years old. He hails from a village, near to Ranchi. He came to railway station and received me. We stayed in a hotel there. next day, we visited a village and preached there. Sunday I worshiped with his congregation.

The congregation is made up of 35 members. We preached in another place also. There is great possibility of expanding the Lord’s Kingdom in this area. The main problem is here, Naxals. These are radicals. They are causing problems. This area is mainly thick forest area many Naxals hide outs are there in villages. These Naxals suspect that we are police informers. But people are very much interested in Truth.

On 14th, I went to West Bengal state. The place is Bidhannagar. This is a separate state and their language is Bengali but all speak Hindi. 14th evening and 15th whole day, we had Gospel meeting and Bible study with the congregation there. Around 65 attended. Brother Ranthu Mahali is the preacher. Two days people left their work and attended the meeting. Here there are many tea estates. Pineapple and tea is very famous in this area. They served all very good black tea. In the evening of 15th, 8 people came forward for baptisms. Again, for some time, we discussed the word of God with them. 8 people are baptized. My dear loving sir, I am very glad. God has opened their hearts. They asked me to visit them again in the month of November.

In November, the preacher is planning to take me to many different congregations. Probably we may visit two congregations in Bangladesh also.

Before independence to our country, there was no Pakistan. It was called East Bengal. That East Bengal is now in Bangladesh. Please pray for our efforts. I send few pictures of baptisms soon.

"In the evening of 15th, 8 people came forward for baptisms. Again, for some time, we discussed the word of God with them. 8 people are baptized."

I once again thank you and sister Gennie, for your kind alms. Because of your love only, I and the preachers here are able to preach the good news Gospel. Thank you very much.

You are in our daily prayers. Kindly continue to pray for us and for the work here.

Closing with love, yours Immadi

From Gonaives, Haiti comes this report from David Smith…226 added to the Lord’s Church!

Most of our reports throughout the year are about the results of our physical work – about agricultural (agronomy and animal husbandry) development, health, microloans, water harvesting, building housing for the homeless, creating jobs, etc. For many of us, we may not see an immediate “tie-in” to evangelism.

I think it is remarkable that the work of evangelism is being done by unpaid elders and other church members. The support received, though, is no small help to proclaiming the love of fellow Christians in the United States who are working diligently to improve their physical lives.

A brother in Oklahoma (his church has provided food assistance for many of our needy children) asked for a report for his elders. What I received from Pacius was a major (and profoundly pleasant) surprise.

Our mission work in the Gonaives Haiti is worthy of our continued prayers and support. As we expand this work with additional workers (James and Abigail Rucker will be moving to Haiti in September, 2016, to help Pacius with development work – with all of the work of evangelism that he is involved in, he needs help!), we will need a bit more help. Thank you for what you have done to make this possible. You are a real partner for His Kingdom.

The report from Pacius Gueston …

In March 2015, after the Medical Work team left Haiti, we received two calls:

1. Passe-Reine with 52 members, it was a denominational church turns to the church of Christ

2. Haut-Torquette with 65 members, It was a Bethel Church turns to the church of Christ

These are two new Churches with their members.

7. Trou-Sable 2…7 new converts

15. La visite…4 new converts
16. Pelerin…6 new converts
