Dear brethren!
Attached is the January 2016 Ukraine MISSIONS newsletter. This month’s issue is filled with encouraging news regarding the faithfulness of your brethren in the Lord’s work.
Among the encouraging reports are these thoughts from two of your brothers:
“Please allow me to say I always thank God for the life in Christ, for support that I have that results from the efforts of many brothers and sisters. I am sure that in Ukraine things are improving and this country is in need of churches of Christ and of sound Bible doctrine as well as faithful Christians.
Our faith in God and His Law is our source of strength. My wife and I can see the positive impact that our small congregation has with the people in Ivano-Frankivsk. We do not know what is going to happen in 20-30 years. That is why we began construction—to help Church gain good credibility, have more opportunities, and have our meeting place where we could put our sign without any fear.” (Ivan Skoleba, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine)
“I always thank our Lord for having opened your hearts to support us and pray with such love, understanding and sympathy towards us and other churches of Christ both in Ukraine and all over the world.” (Pavel Tuznichenko, Kryvy Rig, Ukraine)
Also in this month’s newsletter are reports of how the Russian Orthodox Church continues its persecution of any religious group that is not a part of its control. This oppression has now shifted from subtle to overt actions.
The Rivergate church of Christ (Madison, TN) will be in Searcy and will be loading TWO containers on the same day! They have been collecting personal hygiene items to pack hygiene bags. Here is the report from their hard work: “Attached are some pics taken while shopping and packing for items. We had over 25 helpers, young and old, and stuffed approximately 300 bags. Also, please note, some of the items donated were from Goodpasture Christian School students, organized by one of our Rivergate youth, Brooke Latham. Shearon Dickens, Rivergate church of Christ.”
