Report #5–September 23, 2017

In the above photo (viewable in you click the link to go online) the Ivano-Frankivsk congregation gathers on a Friday night to hear Bill Wharton teach on God’s expectations of marriage. I think this is when Bill observed that Man was alone in the Garden and could not get the work done and needed a helpmeet. So God created woman to get the work done.

This mission trip has been outstanding in several ways. Today I gave the exam to the World Bible Institute class that I had been teaching. The subject matter is the Book of Revelation. The class has had perfect attendance from day one and an eagerness and excitement to study the last book of Scripture. The exam today lasted three hours and then we stayed to grade the exams and discussed missed questions. I had 54 questions on the exam. The least missed was three and the most missed was 6!

Our Friday night sessions with brother William (Bill) Wharton teaching on marriage have been outstanding. This week saw a total attendance of 27 present. Exciting me about this number is that there were a number of visitors. Some of these visitors were contacted in the hospitals in which we distributed benevolence items. These visitors have been present for each of Bill’s lessons. Bill’s lesson tonight focused on Gods’ expectation of those wishing to marry and the divine expectations of those in marriage and he discussed the purpose for getting married, the problem and unacceptability of divorce for any cause. He discussed at length Ephesians 5 and other texts. It was a very good lesson and one that is greatly needed not only in Ukraine but worldwide!
