Report #1—March 26, 2019

Above photo: I arrived in Kherson, Ukraine and was met by Eugenia and Sergey who have distributed a number of containers in this Region.

I have arrived in Ukraine! The trip over was without any unusual twists. I was greeted at the Borispol Airport by Tanya and Sergi and then went to the lodging and after enjoying a wonderful supper crashed into bed. On the drive from the airport we passed some mounds of snow that were finally melting!

The beginning of this trip has been the usual in making contacts and communications with various people. It seems the schedule is set and is filled with expectations of good visits and actions.

We continue doing all we can to address the issue that has suspended shipments of benevolent items into Ukraine. Thankfully I have been placed in contact with a number of individuals in the USA and Ukraine that are concerned and seeking resolution. As any significant developments occurs, I will let you know. I do appreciate all who have, and continue to, contact their Washington, DC delegation. I can assure you never discount the impact of your action that is furthering good!

As we drove from the Kherson airport Eugenia was excitedly explaining all the activities planned for my brief visit. She said that the items we have shipped here are the best the Region has ever received! (Note to Jerry Morgan and the Neelyville, MO loading site—these were the containers YOU collected, packed and loaded!). Eugenia says they receive shipments from Europe and our commodities are so much superior in quality!

Kherson received a shipment of shoes that were given to several geriatric centers. She said that people travelled from all over the Region to come and get a pair of shoes. One lady from a village came and received a pair of shoes. She wears a large size that is impossible to be found here, but there was a size in the load we shipped. This lady was so happy that she lavished all distributing with kisses and tears. On Thursday we will visit some of these elderly residences and see the results of the distribution.

Encouraging News…Even though we have suspended shipments into Ukraine we have consequently begun shipping to several new nations where commodities are being redirected.

LIBERIA…We posted the latest on Liberia—see the report.

ARMENIA…More later this week.

GHANA…This weekend Charita met with two high ranking officials of Ghana who were in New York for a UN conference. These have pledged full cooperation in our efforts for Ghana. We received a request from Ghana and asked brother Emmanuel about this person and he replied, “Yes i can confirm the true identity of brother Dr Dan Owusu Asiamah. All that he said in his letter about his work in Ghana are true. He is a very unique in his approach to the Lord’s work and helping the needy. I referred him to visit your website and see the great work you’re doing for humanity across different countries. He is among few Preachers in my country, Ghana, who does such incredible work. I can count on his good stewardship towards resources entrusted to him for a specific task. He is a true example to emulate when it comes to the Lord’s work; his ‘love for God and Country’, the lost and the needy in a whole. Please kindly assist him in any way possible in his request, and i know one day you will indeed testify about his trustworthiness.”

AFGHANISTAN…Charita received a request from Afghanistan. “Would you be able to go to Afghanistan?  I have several converts there through World English Institute (WEI). Most work with NGOs. Katheryn Maddox Haddad”

JUDSONIA…I received this from David Lawyer today…“Went to warehouse yesterday about 1PM to take clothes from Sharing Shop. There was about 5 cars there and that is very unusual so lots of questions about what was happening. Went inside and 3 people were approaching me. It was Sherrill Bennet, the Chief of Police and the Mayor of Judsonia. The new Mayor and new Chief of Police wanted to express their appreciation and support of our work. Sherrill just happened to b there with Suzanne as well as Rick Harper going through medical supplies. Got about 100 black bags of clothes from Heber Springs yesterday. WOW!”

I can assure you that much more has transpired in communication and action today but no time to relate it!

Tomorrow’s morning will come early and the day is crammed full!

Pray for our on-going efforts!
