Report #12 – March 14, 2021

Featured Photo: A photo of some of the Church of Christ in Ivano-Frankivsk assembled for the Lord’s Day activities on March 14, 2021.

My last Lord’s Day in Ivano-Frankivsk was a wonderful day of worship and fellowship. Between 33-35 assembled for worship, Bible study and then fellowship with a delicious cake that Galina (from Zelena and in the above photo is in the middle back row with the yellow sweater) had brought to share with the Church. It was really good to see such a good number present PLUS we continued to have several participate in the worship via phone.

One of the visitors had her birthday (Alina) and we congratulated her! Alina is in the photo of the congregation seated on the sofa holding her daughter (named Masha/Maria/Mary—this is aa common name in the west because of the strong Mary worship emphasis in this region).

After worship we enjoyed the fellowship with the cake and then following that as we left the meeting room we continued having fellowship at an outside coffee shop. Since Ivano-Frankivsk is in the red zone no cafes or restaurants are open but there are coffee shops operating at the doors of the cafes. Standing in freezing temps is not very comfortable but it gives an opportunity to visit. Thankfully the weather cooperated and immediately after the activities at Church stopped the sun came out and we enjoyed a brief sunny (but windy) time at one of the coffee stops. As we were standing there Ivan pointed to the ominous clouds rolling in and said rain was coming. And it did rain the remainder of the day and night.

Monday will be a day filled full with to-do tasks before I leave for Kherson Monday evening. We shipped a container to Kherson from Searcy/Judsonia in November last year. It will be good to see how it was distributed. Then it is on to Odesa where we shipped our last container that was loaded out of our “Willy’s World” warehouse in Montgomery on December 14, 2020. Then it is on to Kyiv and Lviv!

Thank you for your interest, concerns and prayers!

PS…for all interested in today’s date here are two important facts about March 14…First, it is the day Marx died (look for this to be enshrined as one of the New USA holidays); Second, it is “Pi Day”! Surely you remember “Pi” from junior high algebra classes! 🙂
