On October 26, 2020 we loaded a container with 500+ pieces. This was shipped to Puerto Cortes, Honduras and then delivered to an orphanage in Copan, Honduras. (This was one of the final containers we loaded out of “Willy’s World” before moving to the new warehousing.)
This project involved a number of actions that brought a wonderful result! The plea was for various items that are used to teach the children basic vocational skills. I sent out a special email plea for any tools that could be donated for the vocational shop in the village. A mixture of tools was brought and are now in use in the training school.
We were also asked for chairs and desks for school children. The Lord’s People responded to this plea. From the WestArk Church of Christ in Ft. Smith, AR, C.U.R.E. brought several truckloads of furnishings that could be used (folded cafeteria tables with seats attached; student desks; tables; and many more valued items). The Prattville Church of Christ brought classroom chairs that they had in storage as well as summer weight clothing. The Dalraida Church of Christ sorted, packaged, labeled and loaded these 500+ pieces!
Charita Shteynberg was Point on this project and as usual did an amazing job on communication and logistics!
Charita has received the initial report on this project and below is the wonderful news! Having your “own” school desk may not sound very exciting to you, BUT it means the world to a little girl in western Honduras!
THANK YOU for your financial support, generous donation of requested items, willing sacrifice of time and energy that all combined to make this project a success!
Here are a few photographs of the container’s loading from Montgomery, AL in October 2020…
The desks were loaded from Montgomery, AL by hard working volunteers. In the photograph s are a few of those present: Will Tucker. Freddie Johnston, James Thebo (working so fast he is the blur), Andrew (Gif) Gifford, Larry Brady (Panama Missions), and Seth Martin.
