We have long enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the village of Ugorniky. Mayor Lubov has helped direct our efforts in refurbishing educational classes and in renovating the local clinic. The village gave the plot of land where the Church building is being constructed. Many in our mission groups have personally met Lubov and greatly cherish her. In communication about the Russian evil Lubov made this comment:
No one can understand why Russia is doing this. Ukraine is like their family. We are a peace loving and God-fearing nation. Our Ukrainian mothers pray that their sons going to the frontline do not have to kill but Russia’s mothers pray that their sons kill thousands! How can this be possible in the 21st century?
Another has communicated with me an incident where there is a lady living displaced by Russia’s evil. Here is a sad story. She, her husband and daughter were living in Irpin. The Russians shot the husband and daughter in front of the woman. They then let her go and she found her way to an IDP location in western Ukraine.
Ugorniky has had 5 of their villagers killed in the war. Each death has a catastrophic impact on the village. Over 4,000 displaced people have come into Ugorniky.
The Mayor of Lysets is a cherished friend. This week he was interviewed for a local news program on relief efforts within the area. His interview was filled with excited examples of how our shipments helped the area prior to the Russian invasion and especially how the relief efforts have been critical in the current crisis.
A container arrived for Ivano-Frankivsk and was unloaded in Gdansk Port and trucked to Ivano-Frankivsk. Ivan and a hardworking crew unloaded the container in Ivano-Frankivsk and immediately began distribution of the shipment to places with urgent needs.
I continue scheduling reporting presentations on the work in Ukraine. This Sunday I will be presenting a report at the Dalraida Church of Christ.
Continue to keep the people of Ukraine in your prayers.
