Fall Mission Trip Report 10

Photo: Here is the Church of Christ in Ivano-Frankivsk. Worship assembly September 25, 2022.

Today was the second Sunday we joined in worship with the Ivano-Frankivsk brethren. Unlike last week the sun was brightly shinning. There was a larger number in the assembly from those who were absent last week. However, some who attended last week were absent.

The sunshine in the children’s Bible Classroom really brightened the teaching environment.

As we drove into the Church’s parking lot we were greeted by Valentina waving an energetic welcome to each arriving!

A special treat for us was meeting Inna’s daughter Valery who was able to travel and be with us today.

It was a joy-filled assembly and wonderful fellowship. Some were present who had been home from the front. They will soon be returning. We had a special prayer mention of them asking for Divine protection and guidance as they leave the city.

The Zelena group surprised us by coming. Perry said the group wanted to come to the assembly here and they would have their assembly in the village later in the evening.

I preached about the Church in Antioch (Acts 11-13) discussing the parallel of that congregation with the congregation in Ivano-Frankivsk—it had existed but with the persecution and displacement of brethren the congregation in Antioch increased; the Church in Antioch had a number of preachers, evangelists and teachers who worked harmoniously; the union and harmony that existed in Antioch resulted in a worldwide impact as Paul’s missionary journeys were launched from there. There are a number of historical parallels that it is amazing. Our choice is simple, will we repeat the success story of Antioch and see Ivano-Frankivsk become a renown congregation or will we choose to shun this opportunity? I believe the lesson was well received and pray that the points were taken to heart.

As we begin another week of working in Ivano-Frankivsk, we look back at the week concluded with satisfaction! There are so many reports on actions that they are backed up and I will try to send as quickly as possible.
