Report 14

Chip’s Thoughts

Well, another day with a plan arrives and the plan bites the dust! Our plan to visit a military outfit and a local Mayor got bumped until Friday, instead, we were taken to a high hill overlook of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and surrounding valley.

We then left to visit a lake area and have Lunch with two people, Maria & Ivan who have been working to provide aid to IDPs who have flooded the area from the East. The Ivano-Frankivsk Church has assisted in those efforts and Maria and Ivan have been attending church over the past few months. We returned to the hotel around 4 p.m. We also received a document from the Mayor of Yaremche to take back and talk with some of our political contacts to see how they could help with foreign aid.

Our plan tomorrow is the one we had started with today, but as I’ve come to see, “We’ll see!” Perry and I ended our day with a bowl of ice cream and a dark chocolate sleeping pill! 😃😃 and instead of playing the game “Where’s Waldo” we are starting a new one called, “Where’s Gif!”  Please continue praying for your mission team!

Perry’s Thoughts

Yesterday’s plans were again changed starting with Lubov not being able to see us due to other issues that came up and the disappointing news that meeting with the students and community will not happen this week and Ivan doesn’t believe it will happen.

The visit to the military base was again postponed until today at 10:00 a.m.  The positive was, that Maria & Ivan Mykhalovch invited us for lunch at a very beautiful spot with a small lake and manicured grounds where weddings take place. Our merry lasted till about 3:00. She had many questions about the Church as to why it is so contrary to the Orthodox Church. We didn’t get to all questions but further studies will take place. She is very interested but not sure about Ivan Mykhalovch.

Remember our mission in prayers asking God to grant us success and to open doors of opportunity! (Colossians 4:2-4)
