Fall Trip Report #4 Oncology Hospital

Featured Photo: A visit to the Precarpathian Clinical Oncology Center in Ivan-Frankivsk, Ukraine where various items were donated to help furnish their new radiological center.

In the summer’s visit we went to the Regional Oncology Hospital (see this link https://www.kachelman.com/ukraine/blog/2024/07/11/summer-trip-report-4/).

We arranged to purchase the requested items and these were delivered and in place as the new radiology wing opened. We were invited to visit and see the items purchased. We were also shown a plaque that will be posted in the main corridor saying “Thank you Churches of Christ for helping us.” Over 1,000 patients per week will pass by that plaque! We were told by the Hospital Director and the Radiation Oncologist that this plaque will be viewed by many and they hope it will inspire those viewing it to follow our example.

Posted on the hospital’s internet sites was this message:

“Good afternoon John Kachelman. My name is Lesia M. I’m radiation oncologist in the Precarpathian clinical oncology center in Ivan-Frankivsk, Ukraine. We are deeply grateful to you and the Ivano-Frankivsk Church of Christ for equipping our radiology department with new office furniture and equipment. Thanks to your support, our patients and medical personnel received:

  • Office furniture: desks, tables, chairs, cabinets
  • Appliances: computer and washing machine

Your contribution is invaluable in this difficult time for the whole country. Your help allows us to fight even more effectively for the health of each patient. Thank you for your concern and support!”

John L. Kachelman, Jr, Ukraine Missions, Dalraida Church of Christ, Montgomery, AL 36109
