Fall Trip Report #16 Volunteers 2

Featured Photo: The photo is of a “sewing club” that comes together several times a week to sew various items needed in the war. Many have sons or grandsons in the military.

Today I visited another group of grandmothers who are doing what they can to help defend the sovereignty of their nation. There are numerous groups like these. They work feverishly to help support the defenders against cruel and evil occupation. These various “clubs” are secreted in locations that are secure. Once the location becomes known, the group is quickly moved because in-coming targets and destroys that point. It looks innocuous. The suggestion that these locations are an eagerly sought target seems laughable. For those who think they can casually stroll inside, let me just say, “You just try!” But reality says it is a very present danger and those involved are mum! It took several months of persuasion for me to be able to be cleared and able to visit.

These groups are busily working to provide basic clothing for all ages during the wartimes. Look at the photos and you will see sewn clothing for all purposes. Clothing for war orphans, IDPs, children and adults are all produced by this sewing club, one-piece at a time. Currently they are working on winter wear.

You would enjoy meeting and joining in conversations with these women. When I asked if I could take a photo of the group, they said, “Why do you want our photos? We are not doing anything that needs aa photo taken.” But they agreed and those who felt comfortable having a photo taken said to do it quickly as they had work to be done.

When I heard the protest saying, “We are not doing anything that needs a photo,” I thought of Zechariah 4:10, “Who hath despised the day of small things?” there is nothing “little” in God’s sight. Even a “cup of cold water” is a blessed gift.

I am thankful for each one who joins in these efforts to send commodities of relief and a message of hope! Your “little” is being used to accomplish great things!

Communicate the Lord’s compassion to those struggling with the horrors of war is possible because of YOU. THANK YOU for your support and donations that makes this possible.
