The last two weeks were full of marvelous weeks of activity! Check out the updates and news below.
ACA Week of Service
During the week of December 9-13, ALABAMA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (Montgomery, AL) had its students participate in a week of “Service.” All week-long students were directed to focus on service projects far and near. On Friday, the students went to specific locations to put into practical practice the concepts discussed earlier in the week. On Tuesday, I was invited to join a panel discussing foreign missions. Wednesday, I met with the 6th-7th Graders to discuss specifically their actions on Friday. We enjoyed this energetic group at the warehouse from 9:00-1:00.
The week was an amazing time! Thanks to Dalraida’s Jared & Whitney Kelly, Doug Schofield plus a number of adult parents and faculty, Friday we hosted ACA’s 60 students (6th-7th Graders) at the warehouse. We even had a local TV station come and do a report (see video at end of post). We hoped to load a container while the students were there but the loading got pushed to 4:00. The students’ help prepared for a quick loading on that Friday and another the following Tuesday (Dec 17).
Last 10 Days Summary
In the past 10 days, we have loaded 3 containers and received 3 truckloads of supplies. All of this was hindered when I fell and severely tore my rotator cuff and my right bicep. Surgery was the day after we loaded container #3 and post-op is progressing well but it is irritating as I am hobbled and throttled.
Because of my injury, communication and activity has been impacted and much less than I desire.
Here is a summary of the past 10 days. Below are photos of the ACA service day and the WSFA TV report.
- Total Items Shipped to Ukraine: 2,890
- Total Weight Shipped to Ukraine: 56,280 pounds
- Total Value Shipped to Ukraine: $1,115,075.00
Included in these last 3 containers shipped in December are: Complete Dental Clinic, complete Dialysis Unit, complete Cataract Surgical Unit with 4 operating microscopes, lab equipment, ultrasounds, hospital beds, hospital linens, wheelchairs, food for +100,000 meals for war orphans and IDPs, clothing and shoes, medical supplies, Family Buckets and hygiene supplies. Also sent were the 501 blankets the Sylacauga Church of Christ and Chip McEwen collected for the 500 children of war in the Lviv Region.
As the year closes, I want to THANK ALL who have partnered with us so God could bring these amazing accomplishments to reality! Your partnership and our sensitivity to complying with prevailing regulations and willingness to help “all men” (Galatians 6:10), has opened a number of doors for the gospel. Gif continues doing an amazing work in the Church in Ivano-Frankivsk. He is becoming heavily involved in other locations in Ukraine. His meetings with rehab clinics, universities, and governing administrations are preparing for fruitful opportunities in 2025 as the gospel’s impact reaches into significant offices. I am delighted to report that PERRY BAKER is preparing to rejoin Gif in January. Perry’s presence in Ivano-Frankivsk will amplify the Lord’s successes.
From my perspective, we stand in a MUCH better position in Ivano-Frankivsk at this point than we were a year ago! Gif has endured a challenging year and has excelled in the effort.
